2026 Fall MAR Registration

I understand that caving and participation in the 2026 MAR Field Meet (cave trips, camping, related activities) involve inherent and significant risks of injury, illness, property damage, or death. I voluntarily participate with full knowledge of these risks and assume all such risks, known or unknown. In consideration of being permitted to participate, I, for myself and any minor children I am registering, release, waive, and hold harmless York Grotto, the National Speleological Society, the Mid-Appalachian Region, the Newville Lions Club, and their members, officers, volunteers, and landowners from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising from participation, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I confirm that I (and any minors I am registering) am physically able to participate, will follow all safety instructions and trip-leader directions, and will use appropriate caving equipment. I understand a signed waiver is also required on-site at check-in. By checking this box and entering my name in the registration form above, I acknowledge I have read, understood, and agree to this waiver. Parent/guardian acknowledgment applies to all minors listed.

MID-APPALACHIAN REGION FALL 2026 MEET — NEWVILLE, PA

September 25–27, 2026

The 2026 Fall MAR will be hosted by the York Grotto.

Location: Newville Lions Club Fairgrounds — 433 Shippensburg Road, Newville, PA 17241

Registration cost

  • $40 per adult (pre-registration price).
  • Children 12 & under: FREE — but must still be registered so we have a signed waiver and an accurate meal count for every attendee.
  • On-site (day-of) registration is available at $45 per adult.
  • Pre-registration closes September 7, 2026 (after Labor Day).

Included with your registration

  • Saturday continental breakfast (danishes, donuts, muffins, cereal, coffee, fruit).
  • Saturday evening catered dinner.
  • Saturday evening program — speaker to be announced.
  • Access to 16+ Saturday cave trips (details in the guidebook).
  • A door-prize ticket (picked up at on-site check-in).
  • The digital guidebook (PDF), emailed to registrants 1–2 weeks before the event.

Meals

  • Saturday dinner: a catered BBQ — pulled pork & chicken with sides and dessert.
  • Vegetarian option available — please indicate your choice when registering.
  • Optional add-on: PCC Sunday pancake breakfast — $5 per person (same price for kids).
  • Anyone who does not pre-register online is not guaranteed a Saturday evening meal, though we will do our best to accommodate everyone.

Payment

  • Payment is processed securely through PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account — you can pay by credit or debit card on the PayPal screen.
  • Registering more than one person? Complete the form and add to cart for each person before checking out.

When you arrive

  • Check in on-site to sign the liability waiver and pick up your door-prize ticket.

Camping & site info

  • RVs and tents are welcome.
  • There is no shade in the camping area (no trees) — plan accordingly. Bring a canopy; hammocks will not work.
  • Restrooms: indoor bathrooms and porta-johns are available.
  • Wi-Fi is not available on site, but cell phone service is.
  • Alcohol is permitted — BYOB.

Cave trips

Come one, come all, come big, come small — there are cave trips for all shapes and sizes at the 2026 MAR. There will be 16+ cave trips available on Saturday alone. Some vertical, but most horizontal; some muddy, some dry. Most are suitable for beginners — check the guidebook for specific details. See you then!
